Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 28, 2026

This policy explains what information HerbsList.net (“we,” “us”) collects when you visit the site, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

Information you give us. If you sign up for our newsletter or send us a message through our contact page, we collect your email address and anything else you choose to include, such as your name or message. Please don’t send us personal health or medical details. We can’t give individual medical advice, and we don’t need that information.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we and our service providers automatically collect some technical information when you visit. This includes your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you visit, the page that referred you, and the date and time of your visit. It comes from:

  • Hosting. The site is hosted on Amazon Web Services, which keeps standard server logs for security and performance.
  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which herb pages are popular and how people find us. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect this information.

We don’t have user accounts or comments, and we don’t knowingly collect sensitive information.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Send the newsletter you signed up for and reply to messages you send us
  • Understand how the site is used so we can improve it
  • Keep the site secure and working properly

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share your email address with other companies for their own marketing.

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We use them for analytics through Google Analytics. Google may use the data it collects under its own policies; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site still works if you do.

Some links on this site are affiliate links, including links to Amazon and other retailers that sell herbs and supplements. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. If you click an affiliate link, the retailer may set a cookie to record that you came from our site, so we can earn a commission if you buy something. This doesn’t change the price you pay. Purchases you make on Amazon or other retailers are covered by their own privacy policies, such as Amazon’s Privacy Notice. Read more about how this site is funded.

Our articles link to other websites, including research sources and retailers. We aren’t responsible for those sites’ content or privacy practices, so please review their policies when you visit them.

Newsletter

If you subscribe, we use your email address only to send the newsletter and occasional updates about the site. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting us.

Data Retention and Security

We keep newsletter email addresses until you unsubscribe. We keep messages for as long as we need to respond and keep reasonable records. Analytics data is kept according to Google Analytics retention settings. We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no website or online service is completely secure.

Your Choices and Rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, such as your newsletter email address, by contacting us through our contact page. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we’ll honor requests as required.

Do Not Track. Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There’s no common standard for responding to these signals, so the site doesn’t currently respond to them. You can still use the cookie and analytics opt-outs described above.

Children’s Privacy

This site is intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the effective date at the top of this page.
